ITINERARY

DEPART LOS ANGELES ON AIR NEW ZEALAND

Monday

Arrive Sydney. Transfer to Gazebo Hotel for next 3 nights. Can take Sydney harbor coffee cruise in the afternoon or anytime during your stay.

Tuesday

Buffet breakfast.
Half-day city sights tour in the morning. Rest of day at leisure.

Wednesday

Buffet breakfast.
Day at leisure or choose a suggested optional tour.

Thursday

Buffet breakfast.
Meet your tour guide/driver after breakfast for private 7-day mini-coach tour. In leaving Sydney tour south along the scenic coastal princes highway traveling through typical Australian coastal towns and quaint villages. Visit Huskisson on Jervis bay, an ecological wonderland of blue waters, pristine beaches, rugged sandstone formations, and natural bushland.

Overnight in the quaint town of Eden.

Friday

Continue your journey crossing into the state of Victoria from New South Wales enjoying the beauty of Australia's south east as your tour continues through Alfred and Lind national parks and many other scenic areas along the Victorian coastline. Arrive Melbourne late afternoon.

Accommodation the next 2 nights at the Ibis Hotel.

Saturday

Day at leisure to choose from a variety of optional tours.

Maybe you would like to travel to nearby Phillip Island for the PENGUIN PARADE. Witness this natural phenomenon as the fairy penguins return from the sea at dusk and head towards their nesting burrows in the sand dunes.

Sunday

Depart for a two and a half-hour drive to

"Snowy River Country" and Mount Buller, the high country of Victoria and home to the famous horsemen depicted in the movie "The Man From Snowy River". Apart from the spectacular scenery, the area is abundant with a variety of wildlife.

Accommodation next 2 -nights at Pinnacle Valley Resort.

Monday

The day is yours to choose from the many outdoor activities the area and resort offers. Walking trails, horseback riding, rock climbing, trout fishing, white water rafting, 4-wheel drive tours into the bush. Camel trekking, and much more. Skiing is available from mid-June through mid-October.

Tuesday

Depart for Canberra with your private mini-coach/guide touring through the northern Victorian countryside as you make your way to Australia's national capital.... Canberra. If weather and road conditions permit our route will take us along the precipitous Alpine Way across the roof of Australia.

Over-night at the Hotel Heritage

Wednesday

After checkout, you tour this ultra-modern city with your private mini-coach/guide inspecting the Australian war memorial, the new parliament house, Lake Burley Griffin, Captain Cook's memorial and many other attractions that made this garden city so popular. Before returning to Sydney, time is made for a stop at Mount Ainslie for its panoramic views of Canberra. Return to Sydney approximately 7:00 p.m.

Overnight Ibis Darling Harbor Hotel.

Thursday

Day at leisure until transfer to airport for your return flight home or other destinations from our optional list of Australian cities or New Zealand or Fiji.

Naturally, you will see the well known landmarks of Australia like the Sydney Opera House but when you travel on my tour you will also visit and see what I call the "real Australia". I will also make sure you learn about our history and culture -- you will see kangaroos grazing in their natural habitat, not in a zoo or park. Ever hear a Kookaburra laugh? I will ensure you hear and see this unique bird. Not normally offered to international visitors is the High Country of Australia. The movie "The Man From Snowy River", was filmed in this region. It is a truly magnificent area displaying some of the most spectacular scenery in the country. (if you haven't seen the movie, it's available at most video rental stores).
